Leaps Of Faith

The more time I spend with goats the more encouraged I grow. In many ways I fancy myself to be very much like a goat… always on alert, a tad neurotic, working hard for survival, fun, curious, an insatiable appetite, a loyal member of the herd, and almost always loving. One dimension where I am still working to be more like the goats is in taking leaps of faith. Goats are very confident in their natural skills. I watch them clear obstacles that are stunning. Never does the goat stop and wonder if it can make the jump, it just knows it can and then does. Even when the goats miss a jump they don’t walk away, they actually try the jump again and again until they make it to where they seek. Watching the goats soar over a canyon makes me realize two things:

1. We all have natural talents that can carry us further than we realize

2. Leaps of Faith often take us places we have no other way to access

As the name suggests much of life is “Not By Luck,” often it is about choosing to have faith in ourselves as we leap forward. I missed a few jumps in life but it’s time to be more caprine and keep jumping until I end up where I want to land. The goats are a fantastic reminder of potential.
