Some Bunny Is Thankful

Last weekend we celebrated “Christmas In July” and it was quite a special day. Since then I have been focused on surviving the heat of Summer. To that end I decided to bring a dash of Fall into my life and made up a batch of my favorite pumpkin spice coffee cream. For the past few mornings I have enjoyed my coffee with the flavor and promise of Fall and the knowing that this too shall pass. This heat will pass. But on these hot days it is our rabbits I think of most. They do not tolerate heat well. Wearing a fur coat is dangerous once the temperature is over 100 degrees. So this week I checked on the rabbits more than usual. They are enjoying the shade and were quite content. In fact they were so happy I could not help taking this photo to share. With my cup of pumpkin spice coffee in my hand all I could think about was how these Summer rabbits look like they are nibbling at a Thanksgiving table! I am thankful that they are happy and thriving in their cool shady rabbit run and watching them eat their veggies is a great treat. Even on the hottest days, when we think we just can’t take it anymore, there is always something for which we can be thankful. Today I found joy and gratitude in our rabbits gathering around a table to eat together.
